A high build epoxy undercoat compliant to Environmental Protection Act (1990) Clause 20(d) Guidance Notes PG6/23 (97). Typically used as a high-build epoxy undercoat for up-grading existing chlorinated rubber, vinyl, acrylated rubber, oleoresinous, alkyds, silicone alkyds and similar applications. Epidac 2 HB Epoxy Undercoat is tolerant of surface moisture.

Surface Preparation : Abrade any aged gloss finishes and dDegrease with Dacrylate Thinner R5.
Application Conditions : Temperature above 4°C.
Humidity less than 90% RH.
Epidac 2 HB Epoxy Undercoat can be applied direct to damp/wet surfaces. Brush application is the preferred application method to ensure displacement of water from the substrate.
Application : Apply by brush or airless/air-assisted airless spray.
Airless spray : Tip pressure 2500psi (170 bar). Tip size 13-15 Thou (0.33-0.38mm).
Apply to wet film thickness of approximately 135 microns to achieve a dry film thickness of 100 microns.
Overcoating : When overcoating non-convertible paints, eg., chlorinated rubber or vinyl or similar, the dry film thickness should be not more than 75 microns. Apply with full wet brush, do not ‘brush out’ or ‘lay off’ to avoid solvent attack or solvent entrapment.
Pot Life (at 20°C) : 4 hours
Mixing ratio by volume : 4 : 1
Clean-up : Dacrylate Thinner R5.
